On Wednesday, May 28, 2025 the Supreme Court of Ghana rejected the appeal for an interlocutory injunction made by Chief Justice, Justice Gertrude Sackey Torkornoo. The highest court in Ghana decided unanimously on the judgement.
The Chief Justice was trying to stop the already under way impeachment procedures against her as well as her suspension.
Conversely, a panel of five court members headed by Acting Chief Justice Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie came to the conclusion that the application lacked sufficient grounds and so rejected it.
